The grounds feature beautiful gardens that would really shine in the warmer months, and the dining area showcases decent breakfast selections, including hearty options like pancakes and eggs.
The rooms, particularly in the carriage section, are in need of some real attention. furniture wobbles, and the paint job is lacking in fresh touch. Furthermore, noise travels easily between rooms, making it tricky for light sleepers. A particular downside is the uncomfortable beds. one stay reported a mattress akin to sleeping on a rock, with frustratingly thin pillows and a small, restrictive bathroom layout.

The stay was pleasant, particularly due to the beautiful neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets and charming architecture. One of the highlights was the historic character of the building, which added a unique touch to our experience. I also appreciated the complimentary coffee available all day. Though the room was on the smaller side, it remained tidy and comfortable during our 2-night stay. It was also convenient to access local sites like the Museum of Health Care and the Kingston Waterfront, which made our exploration of the area enjoyable.

More pros than cons, but still…
Charming, historic building with welcoming staff made for a delightful experience. We enjoyed the ability to sit in the beautiful gardens and appreciate the lovely architecture around.
Breakfast was underwhelming, with limited options that fell short of expectations. The room service was non-existent which did detract from an otherwise pleasant stay.

The Cottage Queen was cozy and had a comfortable bed, but the AC was a bit noisy and made it hard to sleep. The location is perfect for exploring, and the nearby shaded park is a plus. Breakfast was okay, but the lady serving it seemed a bit confused about our room. Nice historical vibe overall!

The Hochelaga Inn is a lovely historic property with charming architecture and wonderful staff who go above and beyond. My husband and I were welcomed warmly, and I can't express how grateful I am to Vera for retrieving my dropped necklace from the drain. The beautiful building's location makes it easy to explore Kingston on foot, and the cozy breakfast room adds a perfect touch to our mornings.

The historic architecture and fantastic location near key attractions were standout features, making exploration effortless. Breakfast options included delicious crêpes, adding a delightful touch to the stay. However, the room temperature control was inadequate, leading to an uncomfortably warm environment. Additionally, the broken window coverings meant waking with the first light, and poor shower functionality detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.

The location was excellent for exploring nearby attractions, and the outdoor dining area was delightful for breakfasts (despite a slight delay on the second day! ). Staff went above and beyond for my dietary needs, which I appreciated.
There is room for improvement in the breakfast options and speed of service.
